Cobra Kai

One of the interesting sequels made with the characters from the Karate Kid series. Having not seen Karate Kid, it was still easy to follow up with these characters. It had many cliches associated with the it-irresponsible parents, popular and bullying gangs, triangular love stories, cars, drinks, nerd groups etc. But where it differs is its interest in unraveling the evil group from karate kid,Cobra Kai and its ideologies. It particularly focuses on the ideas of Cobra Kai, what these ideas has done to the past characters, how Miguel, Eli, Aisha struggle with identifying themselves when learning through the principles of Cobra Kai. Martial arts is one of the things that has fascinated me and have loved seeing it in the movies. One of the common arc that it follows is making us root for the underdog and finally making him win. But the finale of both the seasons makes us question and see things in a different perspective. This makes this series one of the compelling and binge worthy watch!

If I’m extra hard on you, it’s only because you have the potential to be better than I ever was – Johny, Cobra Kai
