This Sci-Fi book was my exposure again to the works of Andy Weir having seen the movie Martian.
Female protagonist Jasmine “Jazz” Bashara, her free spirited and adventurous nature, the funny and satirical commentary makes her a lovable character.Having listened to the audio book, loved the interpretation by Rosario Dawson.
Different characters with influences from Arabic, Vietnamese, African, Brazilian countries and Jasmine’s father having strong muslim beliefs made for good representation.World building of Artemis and how it works, different features like the gravity, oxygen supply, how transportation of goods and people happens are articulated beautifully. A good scifi novel uncovering the mysteries, twists and conspiracies by author Andy Weir
“By the way, we also hate it when people . . . call Artemis “the city in space.” We’re not in space; we’re on the moon. I’m mean, technically, we’re in space, but so is London.”
“Five a.m. was a largely theoretical concept to me. I knew it existed, but I rarely observed it.”
